In this class, you will be using a private bulletin board, sponsored and maintained by Central Community College. This board allows the general public, if they find the board, to read its contents, but only registered members are allowed to post on the boards themselves. This means that all students who need to use the bulletin boards for their classes need to be sure to register for the boards.

This sheet will take you step by step through the process of registering for the bulletin boards. The first one or two times a person uses a bulletin board, it can seem complicated, but the system gets much easier the more familiar you become with it.

To begin with, you will need to go to the bulletin board. Your instructor will either give you the link, or will have a link available on the class website.

The first time that you come to the board, you need to click on "Register."

• If you don't agree to these terms, contact the instructor to set up an alternate form of assignment, if that is possible.

• You choose your username and password.

• Choose a username that will allow the instructor to easily identify your posts. Include your name if at all possible.

• Inappropriate usernames will be rejected.

• Include an email address that you check regularly, as the instructor will use it to reply and send grades.

• These two options should be set to Yes so the instructor can contact you more easily.

• These settings can be adjusted at any time using the "Profile" link at the top of the board.

Once you submit your registration, you can begin to use the bulletin board. Please note that only currently active members of the class will be accepted as registered users.
